Wool Awareness Programme ©  for climate change

Wool in School ™  resource for teachers, schools  and anyone interested is now available to join . This Wool Awareness resource  is focused on a number of  the seven curriculum areas. It is perfect for teachers complementing the following areas of the Primary Curriculum.
  • Art Education, Fabric and Fibre Strand 
  • SESE,  History Geography and Science, 
  • History - life , Society, Work and Culture in the Past
  • Geography - Natural environment, Environment Awareness
  • Science- Living thigs, Materials, Environment Awareness and Care
Wool in School™ resource and  sustainability aspects also compliment the  Education for Sustainability Development Strategy 2030

Wool in School™ links in with the Junior Cycle Visual Art Curriculum
  • Statement of Learning SOL8 - The student values local national and international Heritage, understands the importance of the relationship between past and current events and the forces that drive change.


Available on teachable™you will have access to all the information and be able to download  the course . It can also be used on  schools white boards and taught  at your own pace.
This programme brings back to children an understanding of wool and a heritage that has moulded the uses of wool today in Ireland. It also looks at wool as an eco fibre and how wool can play its part in the conversation of climate change


Wool in School™ has been set up since September 2019 and during that time we have offered our workshop to many children.

As part of this on line programme each enrolment has the option of receiving a free goodie bag of fabric from Cushendale Woollen Mill, postage and packaging apply.
